Rockstar has not announced any GTA 5 protagonist returning in GTA 6. The confirmed cast is fresh. Rockstar has published bios and screenshots only for Lucia and Jason, a couple at the center of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style crime saga, plus a handful of supporting figures. No GTA 5 face has an official GTA 6 credit, a point outlets covering the character reveals, including PC Gamer and GameRant, have made repeatedly.
This fits how the series works. Grand Theft Auto games each tell a self-contained story with their own leads, so protagonists rarely cross between mainline entries; the connective tissue tends to live in GTA Online, which has staged occasional crossover appearances and callbacks. That leaves room for a wink or a returning minor character, but a wink is not a playable return.
Because GTA 5 and GTA 6 are set roughly a decade apart in real time, some fans expect a nod to Los Santos or a familiar name. It is possible, but nothing in the two trailers or on Rockstar’s site confirms it. Until the studio names a returning character, assume the launch cast is Lucia, Jason and their new supporting players.
