Editorial Standards

We call a GTA 6 claim confirmed only when Rockstar Games, Take-Two, an official store listing or a rating board says it, and reported when a named person or company says it on the record. We publish no rumors or leaks.

How we decide what is confirmed

We call something confirmed only when it comes from an official source: the Rockstar Newswire, the official GTA VI site, an official store listing, a rating board, or a Take-Two filing. When a named person or company says it on the record, we label the claim reported and name that source in the sentence.

The official sources we track

What they have said is on the confirmed facts page, each fact with its source, and in date order on the timeline.

Labeling: confirmed and reported

  • Confirmed means stated officially by Rockstar or Take-Two, shown on an official store listing or by a rating board, or plainly shown in official material.
  • Reported means a named person or company said it on the record. We attribute it in the sentence.
  • Not published: rumors and leaks, meaning anything that rests on unnamed sources, a leaker, a datamine, a store tracker's backend reading, an anonymous post or a fan theory presented as fact. Where readers ask about one of those claims, the page says what Rockstar has announced. The September 2022 breach stays as history with a court record; the stolen material does not.
  • Our own reasoning carries its own label. Estimate marks a local price we could not read on a store. Likely marks our reading of official footage or of what earlier Rockstar games did, where Rockstar has said nothing. Neither is a source, and the page says so.

Freshness

Every article carries a published date, and an updated date when it changes substantively, so you always know how current it is.

How the news desk works

The News Desk follows Rockstar's official channels, the platform stores, rating boards, Take-Two and established gaming outlets. Each story needs at least two independent organizations behind it and is written only from those sources and our dated fact base. A story that does not clear every check is held back or not published. Stories publish under the News Desk byline, with their sources listed. Vijay sets the standards the site follows and answers for what it publishes, including corrections.

How we rate gear

The console cards on the console page are rated from two checkable sources: the maker's spec sheet, and measurements published by outlets that run labs, quoted as theirs. We do not run a testing lab. Each card has a “Why we picked it” line naming the spec or measurement it rests on. The other gear picks are short text from spec sheets, with no rating.

Each attribute gets one of five words: Excellent, Very good, Good, Fair or Basic. We give no score out of 10, because a decimal implies a measurement bench we do not have. A price on a card is dated, meaning we checked it at that source in that month, or it says “Check current price”. What we rate on a console card:

  • Consoles: raw power, value and ecosystem.

Sponsors and affiliate links

Anything paid is marked sponsored. Sponsors do not choose what we report or how we label it, and a sponsored post gets no confirmed label the facts have not earned. Store links that earn a commission are labeled paid before you click, and a commission never changes the price you pay or which product we recommend. The affiliate disclosure says what is active today.

Ethics

Honest urgency. Our countdowns track real dates. We do not invent deadlines, stock counts or social proof to pressure you.

Intellectual property. GTA6 Times is an independent fan site. We use the names “GTA” and “Grand Theft Auto” only to describe and comment on the game. We do not host Rockstar logos, artwork, screenshots or any copyrighted game assets, and we are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. See our about page.
