Corrections Policy

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note what changed.

Accuracy is the whole point of this site. If we publish an error, we fix it as soon as we can and add an updated date to the article. For significant factual changes, we note what was corrected so the record is clear.

How a correction appears

When a published story needs a fix, we update it in place, change its updated date, and note what changed on the story itself. Guides, tools and the fact tracker are updated in place with a new date, and every significant correction is listed below, so you can see what we got wrong and when we fixed it.

Nov 4, 2026: Eleven news stories retired or folded into the pages that answer them

What we said. We ran stories that rewrote another outlet’s rewrite or repeated one of our own guides: an analyst’s comment on launch timing, a bank’s stock note, an Amazon pre-order comparison, a Rob Nelson interview relayed through another site, a Virgin Media Ireland contest, South Park’s GTA 6 clip twice in one day, and stories on the Launch Trailer, the screenshot count, the ESRB rating, An Extended Look and Sony’s plays best on PS5 line.

What is true. Each address now leads to the page that answers the question: the news index, the gameplay page, the South Park story that stays, the trailer pages, the age rating guide and the PS5 page. The useful details moved there with their sources. The correction note from the ESRB story stays on this page, in the October 4 entry on the Australian rating.

Where it appeared. Eleven news stories from June to October.

Nov 4, 2026: Attributions and a tense in three news stories

What we said. The answers on the Justice score story credited GosuGamers for dates Rockstar published itself. The Circana story said the exact percentage behind its finding was not confirmed, citing another site. The headline on the Rockstar union story said staff had begun voting.

What is true. Rockstar’s Newswire is the credited source for the score album. Circana’s own release gives 29%. The union says voting runs November 12 to 26.

Where it appeared. Three news stories from October 27 to 29.

Nov 4, 2026: The unlock moment for readers outside a country’s main time zone

What we said. Our countdowns and unlock tool gave a reader their own midnight unless they were in the US or Canada, and our release time page said each region unlocks when its local clock reaches November 19. A reader in Perth was shown midnight, three hours after the moment on the Australian store listing, and a reader in Jayapura was shown a time two hours before the moment on the Indonesian one.

What is true. A store listing shows one moment for a country. Where a country has one listing and several time zones, the tools now show that moment on your own clock, so Perth reads 9:00 pm on November 18, and the US and Canada are one wave at midnight Eastern. A zone in a country with no listing keeps its own midnight.

Where it appeared. The release time page, the countdowns, the is it out page and the embeddable widgets.

Nov 4, 2026: The cutoff for the Vintage Vice City Pack on our country pages

What we said. Our country pages said every pre-order before launch includes the pack, and elsewhere on the same page gave November 20.

What is true. Every purchase before November 20 includes it, and the Xbox Store lists the cutoff as 23:59:59 on November 19. A purchase on launch day counts.

Where it appeared. The country pages.

Nov 4, 2026: Which GTA 6 prices are confirmed

What we said. Our country pages called the US price the one fully confirmed price, on the same page as a local price stamped Confirmed.

What is true. A local price read from that market’s own store listing is as confirmed as the US price. The sentence is gone.

Where it appeared. The country pages.

Nov 3, 2026: GTA6 Times no longer publishes rumors or leaks

What we said. We labeled unconfirmed claims Rumor or Leak and published them: a rumor tracker page, a leaks tracker page, rumor rows on the fact check page, and eight news stories on review copies, a download size, a soundtrack offer, a PC timing forecast, a trailer-quality debate and a fan clip. Other stories and pages repeated rumors in a line or a table row.

What is true. The three pages and the eight stories are retired, and each address leads to the page that answers the same question from primary sources. The rumor lines are gone from the stories and pages that repeated them. The site now publishes what Rockstar, Take-Two, the stores and the rating boards release and what named people and companies say on the record. Where readers still ask about something Rockstar has not announced, such as a PC version, the page says what has been announced and nothing more.

Where it appeared. The rumor tracker, the leaks tracker, the fact check page, eight news stories, the stories and pages that repeated them, a forum thread and a Discord channel.

Nov 3, 2026: The PlayStation Store unlock table named countries with no store

What we said. The table under "PlayStation Store unlock by country" printed a local midnight for all 98 markets, including countries with no PlayStation Store at all, such as Russia, Iran and North Korea, and said we had read four listings.

What is true. We read every market’s PlayStation Store listing on November 3, 2026. Sixty markets have a listing, and each row now shows what its listing displays. Puerto Rico and Guam use the US store. The other 36 are named as having no local listing, and the game unlocks for them when the store the buyer uses unlocks.

Where it appeared. The release time page, its unlock tool, the home page picker, the Discord app and the answers given to AI assistants.

Nov 3, 2026: Rockstar moved the GTA 6 pre-load to November 10

What we said. We said digital pre-load opens on November 12, the date Rockstar had given.

What is true. Rockstar said on November 3, 2026 that digital pre-load begins on November 10: at midnight local time on PS5 and at 12 a.m. GMT worldwide on Xbox. Code-in-box versions should reach retailers from November 12.

Where it appeared. The pre-load, file size, editions and pre-order pages, the checklists, the calendar file and three news stories, each now updated.

Nov 3, 2026: Our storage allowance for the GTA 6 install

What we said. We told readers to plan on 150 GB of free space, a buffer tied to Red Dead Redemption 2, and our storage planner told a 512 GB Xbox Series S owner with 200 GB free that the allowance fit.

What is true. Rockstar said on November 3, 2026 that the pre-load requires up to 212 GB of available space, depending on your device. The pages and the planner now use that figure.

Where it appeared. The file size and pre-load pages and the storage planner, the system requirements page and checker, the beginner guide, the creators page, the storage checklist and the data files.

Nov 3, 2026: The start time of the GTA 6 pre-load

What we said. From October 3 we said Rockstar gave the November 12 pre-load as a date and not a clock time, and called a local-midnight start unconfirmed.

What is true. Rockstar Support’s page on GTA VI platforms, editions and versions, last updated August 18, 2026, says pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12. We had removed that line by mistake and restored it, and later that day Rockstar moved the date to November 10 (see above).

Where it appeared. The pre-load and editions pages, the checklists, the facts page and the June pre-order story.

Oct 30, 2026: The Justice score album announcement ran as two news stories

What we said. Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score by Justice, due December 11, on October 29, and we ran it as two stories that day: "Justice announces GTA 6 original score album" and "Justice composed GTA 6’s original score".

What is true. The first stays, as the story that cites Rockstar’s own Newswire post. The second address leads to it.

Where it appeared. Two news stories from October 29: one kept, one redirected.

Oct 29, 2026: A date gap in one news story and three duplicate stories retired

What we said. The story on the reported November 18 review date said the first reviews were expected two days before the November 19 release. November 18 is one day before. Separately, the same 210 GB install size rumor ran as three stories on October 28, and the Virgin Media Ireland offer to pay a gamer to play GTA 6 ran as two stories on October 27 and 28.

What is true. The review story said one day before until it was retired on November 3, 2026. Rockstar has not announced a review date. The three install size stories now lead to the file size page, which carries Rockstar’s own figure, and the two Virgin Media Ireland stories lead to the news index.

Where it appeared. Six news stories from October 26 to 28, all since retired.

Oct 26, 2026: Console wording on 12 country price pages, a rating record and an album song count

What we said. Twelve country price pages (Australia, Ireland, India, Brazil, the Philippines, Finland, Portugal, Greece, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Cyprus) still called the Xbox Series S the lowest-cost or most affordable console, a claim we retired on October 4 because only the US price was checked. Six pages gave Australia’s R 18+ as the rating of the game, although the Australian database record is for the August 27 gameplay demonstration. The album story counted six songs in one line and seven in the rest of the page.

What is true. The country pages now call the Series S the entry-level console. The pages that gave Australia’s rating now say the database record is for the demonstration and that the Xbox Store listing shows R18. The album story says seven songs are out: six released September 17 and Justice’s Flower in a Hurricane from the October 15 Launch Trailer.

Where it appeared. The country release and price pages, the GTA 6 hub, the pre-order, parents and age rating pages, and one news story.

Oct 26, 2026: Attributions, dates and hedges in nine recent news stories

What we said. A launch trailer story credited Ynetnews, The PC Enthusiast and gHacks with claims they do not make. A Daft Punk story gave Dexerto and Instant Gaming publication dates their reports do not state. A story on the trailer's blurry look gave Kotaku a figure and a certainty it did not, and dated the Netflix Extended Look to October 16 (it is August 27). An Ocarina of Time pre-order story ran iXBT.games figures into a paragraph about TheGamer and said what TheGamer knew. A Miami story's summary credited fans with details that come from Game Rant's own report, and a Rob Nelson story placed his remarks about crowds in Vice City, which only the outlet's gloss does. The Xbox cloud streaming story said Xbox had not confirmed GTA 6 for Xbox Cloud Gaming, while Shacknews reads Matthew Ball's post as confirming it and MeriStation says Microsoft has not denied it. A story on Rockstar's pedestrian dialogue writers dropped "in some ways" from James Horton's remark and gave reasons the interview does not give.

What is true. Each sentence the sources do not support is removed or restated as they put it, a missing source is now listed, and a ninth story, on Miami supercars, was tightened to what GamesRadar+ and iXBT.games reported. Two older stories, an Australian workplace regulator's joke chart about launch day leave and the UK tribunal extension, are retired because too little of their text could be tied to what the outlets reported; their addresses lead to the release time and business pages.

Where it appeared. Eleven news stories from October 7 to 25.

Oct 26, 2026: Eleven more older news stories retired

What we said. Stories from June to September on the Ultimate tier shops, the GTA+ free month, the disc-less box, the PS5 Pro tag, an analyst price target, an Ellis resume leak, development cost estimates, an indie developer on GTA 6 buyers, Microsoft and Discord subpoenas over the Cyberleek leaks, a 192 GB archive and Roger Clark on Red Dead Redemption 2 comparisons. An October 4 check found that too little of their text could be tied to the sources they cited for them to stand as articles, so they had been kept out of search results since then.

What is true. Each story is retired and its address now leads to the page that covers the topic from primary sources: the editions, pre-order, platforms, stock, budget, voice actors and development pages, or the news index.

Where it appeared. Eleven news stories, all out of search results since October 4.

Oct 24, 2026: Dates and details in four news stories

What we said. The Rockstar tribunal story dated the union reaching the legal recognition threshold to October 18, 2026, which falls after the story and after the firings. The Xbox cloud gaming story said GTA 5 reached PC three years after its console release. The Australian leave story said New Zealand players get GTA 6 first, on November 18. The dialogue writers story spelled the region Grass Rivers.

What is true. The recognition date is removed because no source gives its year. GTA 5 reached PC on April 14, 2015, about 19 months after its September 17, 2013 console release. The PlayStation Store unlocks GTA 6 at midnight on November 19 local time in each region, which is 11:00 UTC on November 18 in New Zealand and still the November 19 release date there. The region is Grassrivers.

Where it appeared. Four news stories from October 7 to 14, corrected in place.

Oct 24, 2026: Three source attributions on guide pages

What we said. The creators page said Twitch’s CEO told Bloomberg he expects a big bump in viewers from GTA 6, reported by Kotaku. The GTA Online answer and comparison pages said GameRant quoted Take-Two’s September 17 statement that GTA Online stays supported. The PC pages said GamesRadar+ reported that Take-Two gave no PC date at that meeting.

What is true. The Bloomberg report we hold says only that Twitch’s CEO expects GTA 6 multiplayer next year, so the viewer sentence is removed. Beebom reported the GTA Online support statement from the September 17 shareholder meeting, and we could not match it to GameRant, so the answer now credits Beebom. The PC pages now say what Take-Two said at the meeting without crediting an outlet we could not confirm.

Where it appeared. The creators page, the GTA Online answer and the GTA 5 versus GTA 6 comparison, and the PC release date and platforms pages.

Oct 16, 2026: Twenty-seven older news stories retired

What we said. Stories from July to September on leaks and leakers, Take-Two stock moves, interviews with executives from other studios, union talks, retail stock, marketing deals and early reports on characters and gameplay. An October 4 check found that most of their sentences were not supported by the sources they cited, and several named sources or details the sources did not contain.

What is true. Each story is retired and its address now leads to the page that covers the topic from primary sources: the news index, the map and business pages, the stock and price pages, GTA Online, the PC release page, the characters and voice actors pages, gameplay, animals, the trailers page and the best console guide.

Where it appeared. Twenty-seven news stories, all already out of search results since October 4.

Oct 4, 2026: Two older news stories whose sources did not say what we wrote

What we said. One story said Rob Nelson told GamesRadar that GTA 6 will not let players switch freely between Lucia and Jason. The other said Rockstar confirmed GTA 6 is a single-player experience in a presentation, per IGN and TheSixthAxis.

What is true. GamesRadar quotes Nelson saying some missions force one character and others let you alternate freely, and An Extended Look shows a mid-combat switch. The single-player line comes from one PC Gamer column, not a presentation, and neither IGN nor TheSixthAxis is in it. Both stories are retired and their addresses point to the pages that answer the question.

Where it appeared. Two news stories from July and August, now archived; they were noindexed earlier on October 4.

Oct 4, 2026: Rockstar’s Mod Guidelines

What we said. The Mod Guidelines page was narrow, said little beyond its date and scope, and Rockstar described no way of enforcing it. The GTA 6 mods page called console and online mods confirmed impossible.

What is true. The page, dated September 10, 2026, lists specific rules: no cheat menus that interfere with official multiplayer, multiplayer modding limited to Rockstar’s Creator Platform, all modding non-commercial unless that platform permits it, and Rockstar may take down any mod at any time for any reason. It does not name GTA 6. Console mod support is not announced, not ruled out by Rockstar.

Where it appeared. The Mod Guidelines story, rewritten from the page itself, and the GTA 6 mods page.

Oct 4, 2026: Australia’s rating for GTA 6

What we said. Australia’s Classification Board classified GTA 6 MA 15+ on June 15, 2025.

What is true. The Australian Classification database lists Grand Theft Auto VI at R 18+ (a demonstration record dated August 27, 2026), and the Xbox Store listing shows R18 for Australia. A GamingBible report had cited the classification, and the record page it pointed to is no longer publicly accessible. The earlier MA 15+ rating could not be verified, so it is removed.

Where it appeared. The age rating guide, the parents guides, FAQ answers, the ESRB story (which carried this note until it folded into the age rating guide on November 4, 2026) and the home page facts. A story that said GTA 6 is not an R18+ title in Australia was retired.

Oct 4, 2026: Brian Heder, Jason and Lucia

What we said. Jason works for Brian Heder, and Lucia opens the story leaving prison.

What is true. Rockstar’s bios say Brian lets Jason live rent-free at one of his properties in return for help with local shakedowns, and that Lucia is out of prison. Nothing says her release opens the story.

Where it appeared. The character, faction, story and first-mission pages, and the missions and economy lists.

Oct 4, 2026: The Ultimate Edition

What we said. The Ultimate Edition does not change the story or the map.

What is true. Rockstar marks the Ultimate Edition’s shops, tattoo parlor and mod shops as open only with that edition, so its content is more than cosmetic.

Where it appeared. The Standard versus Ultimate comparison.

Oct 4, 2026: The cheapest console

What we said. The Xbox Series S is the cheapest way in, in every country.

What is true. Only the US price was checked: the Series S is the lowest-priced console we list there ($499.99 at the Microsoft Store on October 4, 2026). Elsewhere we call it the entry-level console.

Where it appeared. The country price pages, the console guides and the console checklist.

Oct 4, 2026: A quote attributed to Twitch’s CEO

What we said. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy described GTA roleplay as improv theater.

What is true. Removed. The Kotaku article we cited does not contain it.

Where it appeared. The GTA roleplay guide.

Oct 4, 2026: Map size and the 30fps report

What we said. Community estimates suggest GTA 6’s map is bigger than GTA 5’s, and Kotaku reported the 30fps console figure in August 2026.

What is true. Game Informer reports Rockstar North’s Aaron Garbut calling Leonida Rockstar’s biggest map, about twice GTA 5’s. Kotaku’s 30fps report is dated August 27, 2026.

Where it appeared. The comparison pages.

Oct 4, 2026: Analytics and storage on the privacy and cookie pages

What we said. A self-hosted Umami counter is our primary analytics, and the site stores your light or dark theme choice.

What is true. The site runs Google’s tag with consent denied until you accept, and no Umami counter is running. The theme toggle is not shown. The pages now list the storage the site really uses.

Where it appeared. The privacy policy, the cookie policy and the cookie banner.
