Pre-load opens November 10
Rockstar confirmed pre-loading starts November 10, 2026, nine days before launch: at midnight local time on PS5 and at 12 a.m. GMT on Xbox Series X and S. Rockstar says it will require up to 212 GB of available space, depending on your device. Pre-loading requires having pre-ordered or bought the game.
Buying the box? You still download the game
The physical edition has no disc. Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement confirmed boxed copies contain a download code. Rockstar later said code-in-box copies should be available from retailers beginning November 12, and a boxed copy can pre-load only once its code is in hand, so its start depends on delivery or pickup.
