Hunting is written into Rockstar’s published copy, not read out of a leak. The Mount Kalaga National Park page on the official site, live since the May 2025 relaunch, pitches the state’s northern wilderness on exactly these activities, a description PC Gamer and other outlets quoted directly when the site went up, alongside Rockstar’s line about backwoods hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals living off the grid there.
Fishing gets double confirmation: the same Mount Kalaga description plus an official screenshot of Jason fishing from a boat. Kayaking and off-road racing are listed for the park too, and the Leonida Keys screenshots add scuba diving, so outdoor side activities are a pillar of the game, not a bullet point.
The template everyone points to is Red Dead Redemption 2, where Rockstar built full animal ecosystems around hunting, and GTA 6’s trailers already lean on wildlife, most memorably Trailer 1’s alligators in a backyard pool and a convenience store. How deep the systems go, tracking, selling, animal counts, is not yet documented.
