Can you customize your character in GTA 6?
The two GTA 6 leads are set characters, not a blank avatar. You play Lucia and Jason, so story customization is about their clothes and style rather than building a face from scratch. Any create-a-character system would belong to the online mode, which Rockstar has not detailed.
This is the opposite of GTA Online, where you build your own criminal from a menu. GTA 6 single-player casts you as Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, two written protagonists Rockstar has given official bios, so their identity is fixed the way Franklin, Michael and Trevor were in GTA 5. You dress them; you do not design them.
Wardrobe, at least, is clearly on the table. Across the two trailers Rockstar shows Lucia moving from prison overalls at the start of the story to a shimmering gold sequin dress, the look first seen in the December 2023 reveal, and both leads appear in a run of different outfits and hairstyles from scene to scene. That points to a real clothing system, though Rockstar has published no menus or details.
Deep character creation, sliders for face, body and style, is a GTA Online tradition, and the mode that would carry it into GTA 6 is the unannounced next GTA Online. Until Rockstar shows the online mode, treat the depth of any customization system as unconfirmed.
