Is GTA 6 bigger than GTA 5?
Reportedly yes. Aaron Garbut of Rockstar North told Game Informer that Leonida is Rockstar’s biggest map "by some degree", which outlets report as about twice the size of GTA 5’s map. Rockstar has not published a map size for either game, so treat the figure as reported, not an official measurement.
Is GTA 6 a sequel to GTA 5?
It is the next numbered Grand Theft Auto game, with a new setting (Vice City and Leonida) and new confirmed leads, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, rather than GTA 5’s characters.
Will GTA 5 and GTA Online shut down when GTA 6 launches?
Rockstar has not announced a shutdown of GTA 5 or GTA Online. Beebom reports that Take-Two said at its September 17, 2026 shareholder meeting that Rockstar will keep supporting GTA Online after GTA 6 launches, so the safe assumption is they keep running.
