Rockstar says the GTA 6 pre-load needs up to 212 GB of available space, depending on your device. This checklist makes that room.
The boxed version contains a download code, so every format installs to console storage. Rockstar gives no split by console.
- ☐ Check your free storage now against Rockstar’s figure of up to 212 GB
- ☐ Delete or archive games you are not playing
- ☐ Move rarely played games to external storage if your console supports it
- ☐ Consider an SSD upgrade, the official Xbox expansion card or a compatible PS5 NVMe drive
- ☐ Empty your downloads and clear any old game updates
- ☐ Pre-load from November 10 so the install finishes before launch day
