If you want a detailed Rockstar open world you can play today, RDR2 is the closest recent match for GTA 6. GTA 6 brings Rockstar to a modern crime sandbox, so both are worth a look, RDR2 now and GTA 6 at launch.
Will GTA 6 be as detailed as RDR2?
Rockstar calls GTA 6 the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet, and Aaron Garbut told Edge it has “an order of magnitude more interiors” than its predecessors.
Is GTA 6 bigger than RDR2?
Reportedly, yes. Aaron Garbut told Game Informer that Leonida is Rockstar’s biggest map "by some degree". YouTuber TGG says Rob Nelson told him it is about three times RDR2’s, which is TGG’s account, not a Rockstar statement. Rockstar has not published a map size for either game.
