Irish fan can be paid €800 to play GTA 6
Quick answer: Virgin Media Ireland is offering one Irish resident €800 to play GTA 6 for eight hours, with applications open until November 15.
Virgin Media Ireland has launched a competition that will give one winner €800, roughly $900, to play Grand Theft Auto VI for eight hours. The winner also receives a free copy of the game, according to Yahoo Tech, which credited ComingSoon.
Yahoo Tech reported that the winner earns €100 an hour and may divide the eight hours across as many sessions as they like. GameRant reported that those hours must be finished within a week of the game arriving, after which the winner has to publish an honest review on social media that tags Virgin Media Ireland.
According to Yahoo Tech, applications close on November 15, and the winner hears back within seven days of that deadline. Only people living in the Republic of Ireland qualify. GameRant and Yahoo Tech both reported that applicants need a TikTok or Instagram account, but they do not have to be Virgin Media broadband customers.
The two outlets give different word limits for the entry essay. GameRant reported 200 to 300 words explaining why the applicant deserves the spot, while Yahoo Tech reported 100 to 200 words.
The Irish Mirror reported that the €800 arrives as a gift card and that the winner will spend launch week exploring Leonida and the neon streets of Vice City. Yahoo Tech and the Irish Mirror both state that GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
That figure has not been verified.
