Ocarina of Time outsells GTA 6 on Amazon pre-orders

According to TheGamer, the Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which launches November 5, took in 60,000 pre-orders on Amazon US during the past month, a total the outlet linked to previews that went live that week. In the same window, GTA 6 logged roughly 11,000 Amazon pre-orders, split about 9,000 for PS5 and 2,000 for Xbox. TheGamer wrote that the remake had sold almost six times as many copies as GTA 6 on that store.

TheGamer was clear that its figures cover only Amazon and physical editions. It said digital pre-orders, which it had no numbers for, would probably bring the two games closer together, and might tilt the result toward GTA 6. The same article looked at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which it counted at about 3,300 Amazon pre-orders across all three consoles over the same month, roughly 5.5% of Ocarina's estimated total.

iXBT.games, writing on October 17, gave Amazon data showing between 60,000 and more than 100,000 Ocarina pre-orders in the last month, and presented that spread as the raw figures. For GTA 6 it listed over 9,000 PS5 copies and over 3,000 for Xbox Series X|S, and said the Zelda numbers ran 5 to 8 times higher. The 8x in iXBT's headline reflects the top of its Amazon range, while TheGamer's numbers work out to roughly 6x.

iXBT.games also pointed out that these numbers come from a single store, and that some analysts think total GTA 6 pre-orders have passed 6 million.
