What Rockstar has confirmed

Rockstar lists GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, launching November 19, 2026. Its official GTA VI page names no PC version, no PC date and no PC storefront, and the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings cover consoles only. A year, a quarter or a Steam page you see elsewhere is speculation until Rockstar says it. Rockstar’s GTA VI page was rechecked on November 3, 2026 and shows no PC, Steam, Epic or Launcher link, and the newest GTA VI post on its Newswire that day was the November 3 pre-load announcement. Take-Two gave no PC date at its September 17, 2026 annual meeting and said only that PC is becoming more important to the company (reported). Its next scheduled financial update is its fiscal Q2 2027 results on November 9, 2026, after the US market close.

How long Rockstar’s earlier games took to reach PC

Eight Rockstar games launched on console first and reached PC later. The gaps run from two weeks to more than 14 years. Dates are as listed in each game’s Wikipedia release box, North America where regions differ, read October 4, 2026.

What the history does and does not say

Every game in the table reached PC, and none of them on its console launch day. Beyond that there is no pattern to lean on. Grand Theft Auto III through Grand Theft Auto IV each took six to seven months, GTA 5 took about 19, Red Dead Redemption 2 about 12, and the original Red Dead Redemption waited until October 29, 2024.

GTA 5 shows why one number misleads: it reached PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2014, about five months before its PC version arrived on April 14, 2015. A gap needs two dates. GTA 6 has one, November 19, 2026, and its PC date is blank.

Where a real announcement will appear

Rockstar announces PC versions on its own Newswire and on the game’s page at rockstargames.com, as it did for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 (both announcements are linked below). Until a post like that exists for GTA 6, treat any PC date as unconfirmed.

Will GTA 6 be on Steam?

No GTA 6 Steam version is announced. Rockstar’s November 19, 2026 launch lineup names PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, with no PC edition, Steam page or PC pre-order. Past Rockstar games reached Steam on different schedules, so their history cannot supply a GTA 6 Steam date. The same goes for the Epic Games Store and the Rockstar Games Launcher: neither Rockstar’s GTA VI page nor its support guide names them.

There is no legitimate GTA 6 Steam purchase or wishlist page today, so a key shop, marketplace listing or social post selling a Steam key cannot deliver an announced product. Do not pay for a placeholder key, an account reservation or an early-access build. A genuine Steam page would name Rockstar Games as the publisher, carry the same release information as Rockstar’s own GTA VI page and use Valve’s normal purchase flow.

The two closest precedents took different routes. GTA 5 reached consoles in September 2013 and Windows in April 2015, and it is sold on Steam. Red Dead Redemption 2 reached consoles in October 2018 and Windows through Rockstar and other PC storefronts in November 2019, and its Steam release followed in December 2019. So even a PC announcement would not confirm Steam on day one. The milestones to watch are separate: a PC announcement, a PC release date, named storefronts, system requirements, price and pre-order availability. Until they exist there is no official Steam price, discount, pre-load date or refund window.

Can I run GTA 6 on PC? The system requirements

No PC requirements exist to check against, because no PC version is announced. Any minimum or recommended list you see elsewhere is someone’s guess, and no tool can tell you whether an unannounced PC game will run or how well, so do not buy an upgrade for it. The closest official numbers are the current PC requirements for Rockstar’s last two games: GTA 5 Enhanced asks for 105 GB on an SSD and Red Dead Redemption 2 for 150 GB. They are history and say nothing about GTA 6, whose only published figure is the console pre-load, up to 212 GB.
