PS5 parental controls for GTA 6
GTA 6 is made for adults. On PS5 you can block it for a child in a few minutes: limit games by age, lock down chat, cap spending, and protect it all with a passcode. Here are the steps.
GTA 6 is not officially rated yet, but it is expected to be ESRB M (17+) and PEGI 18, like every past GTA. Setting the age limit below 18 covers it.
- Set a system passcode. In Settings, Family and Parental Controls, set a 4-digit system passcode and keep it secret. It overrides every restriction, so the child must not know it.
- Limit games by age rating. Go to Settings, Family and Parental Controls, your child account, Parental Controls, Age Level for Games, and set the limit below 18 so an M or 18-rated game like GTA 6 cannot launch.
- Restrict chat and shared content. Under Communicating and User-Generated Content, turn off or limit messages, parties and player-created content so the child cannot chat with strangers.
- Set a monthly spending limit. Set a Monthly Spending Limit so the child cannot buy add-ons, currency or other games without approval.
- Approve requests case by case. A child can request access to a blocked game. You get a notification on your account to approve or deny it, so nothing unlocks silently.
