Answer
Can you go inside buildings in GTA 6?
GTA 6 definitely has explorable interior scenes, including stores, clubs, homes and other mission locations shown by Rockstar. What is not confirmed is how many buildings can be entered freely outside a mission. Rockstar has published no count, percentage or promise that every door in Leonida opens.
Trailer 1 provides the clearest confirmed examples. Lucia and Jason carry out a masked store robbery from inside the shop, and another scene shows an alligator walking through a convenience store while people film it. Those are rendered game locations, not a claim about a menu or a loading screen. They prove that indoor environments are part of the playable world and story.
Trailer 2 widens the range of interiors. Rockstar shows Lucia and Jason in homes, bars and a Vice City club, along with indoor conversations tied to the supporting cast. The footage establishes variety, but a trailer edit cannot establish whether each place is open during free roam, limited to a mission, available only at certain hours or used only in a cutscene. Those distinctions matter more than a raw screenshot count.
No official source supports the viral claim that GTA 6 has more than 700 enterable interiors. Rockstar’s GTA VI page, both trailers and its current support articles publish no building total and no percentage of doors that open. Numbers traced to leaked development material or fan maps are not launch specifications. We do not use them as a fact or repeat the leaked material.
The word enterable also needs a consistent definition. A location should count only when the player can cross the doorway and move through the space during normal play. A background room visible through glass, a cutscene set, a brief mission corridor and a building represented only by a menu are different things. Combining all of them into one headline number makes the game sound more open than the evidence establishes.
Past Grand Theft Auto games used a mixed model. Some shops, safehouses, clubs and mission spaces stayed open in free roam, while many detailed locations appeared only during a specific mission. That history explains why a shown interior is not automatically a permanent free-roam destination. GTA 6 could expand the system, but the old games do not confirm how Leonida handles it.
Dense interiors can still matter without every tower opening. Stores can support robberies and shopping, clubs can anchor missions and social spaces, homes can carry story scenes, and garages or safehouses can provide utility. Rockstar’s footage confirms that kind of venue-based design. It does not show a system for walking into random apartments, offices or hotel rooms across the whole map.
The practical answer is therefore narrow but useful. You will go inside buildings during the GTA 6 story, and Rockstar has shown several categories of interior. Do not buy the game or plan content around a promised enterable-building count. After launch, we will test whether each shown location is freely accessible, mission-only or time-limited and update this page with a sourced list.
